Athletics
Newburyport has many youth sports leagues (soccer, lacrosse, hockey, basketball, football, baseball, softball). These teams are run independent of the school.
Nock Interscholastic Teams are managed by Mr. Kyle Hodsdon, Newburyport Athletic Director. For details, see the NHS Athletics pages.
Fall Cross Country
The Interscholastic Cross Country Program is designed for students in grades 7-8 who are interested in cross-country running. The team practices on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at Maudslay State Park after school from 2:30-3:30, starting in September and finishing at the end of October. Musical Theater
One musical is offered each year, with the performance being held in the spring. Students from all grade levels are cast in various roles in the musical. The musical provides an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their singing, dancing, and acting abilities, or to support the show as a member of the stage crew. They also foster teamwork and an enhanced sense of self-confidence. There is a fee to participate.

Yearbook
Open to any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student who enjoys photography and creativity. Members of the Yearbook Club take photos of their classmates throughout the school year in order to capture the moments of middle school life. Having your own camera is great, but not necessary. Members will also consult with the yearbook advisor for special assignments as well as preview and edit the yearbook pages. This allows students to be a part of creating lasting memories! There is no fee to participate.
